EERA JP PV at the 5th tandemPV Workshop - Hasselt

From May 13 to 15 2025 the city of Hasselt welcomed the international photovoltaic community for the 5th edition of the tandemPV Workshop. This hybrid event brought together 240 participants from 27 countries, including leading researchers, industry pioneers, and policy experts, demonstrating once again that collaboration is key to driving solar innovation forward.

At EERA JP PV we were proud to be one of the official sponsors of this year’s edition. Supporting initiatives like tandemPV is at the heart of our mission to accelerate research excellence and cooperation in the field of photovoltaics across Europe.

Supporting meaningful impact

Our sponsorship contributed to making this event an engaging and high-quality experience for all involved. Over the course of three days, participants benefited from a rich and diverse program that included more than 50 oral presentations and over 75 posters, covering all aspects of tandem PV—from material development to device engineering and integration strategies.

Thanks to the efforts of the organizers and the active involvement of the entire community, the workshop successfully brought together a broad spectrum of experts and stakeholders, offering numerous opportunities to foster dialogue, exchange insights, and explore future collaboration.

A hub for innovation and exchange

The event highlighted the increasing importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in areas such as silicon and thin-film integration, where combining material and device expertise opens new frontiers in solar cell performance. The presence of both material scientists and device specialists created a fertile ground for meaningful exchanges and innovative ideas.

Some of the key highlights of the workshop included:

  • Engaging directly with experts and innovators across the tandem PV ecosystem
  • Staying informed on current research and emerging trends
  • Understanding the challenges and needs of those working at the forefront of photovoltaic technology
  • Strengthening existing partnerships and building new ones with aligned institutions and initiatives

This kind of community interaction is vital to shaping a common path forward for solar technologies in Europe.

Looking ahead: 2026

We are deeply thankful to the organizing committee, speakers, session chairs, and every attendee who helped make the 2025 tandemPV Workshop a true success. The event was not only a platform for technical discussion, but also a source of inspiration and a reaffirmation of the importance of collective effort.

We look forward to continuing this momentum and hope to see many of you at the next edition of the workshop in Berlin in 2026.

Together, let’s keep advancing photovoltaic research and innovation to power a more sustainable and inclusive energy future.
