Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) has been one of the decisive factors for the European-wide batteries and hydrogen projects to foster R&D and the first industrial deployments and to take the strategic stance in these fields. As the EU is extensively increasing the ambition for the PV deployment during the forthcoming years, the European PV manufacturing industry has initiated the PV-IPCEI framework with more than 50 European PV manufacturing companies and research institutes participating and 6 projects being developed. The PV-IPCEI framework is one of the measures to foster the European PV manufacturing capacities as soon as possible and to achieve better balance between the PV deployment needs and the PV manufacturing capacities in the EU.
